But that is a waste of space, one clone is enough for me. If the clone is already done AND your OS partition is the last partition on the new disk, then just go to Computer Management > Disk Management, right-click the OS partition in the graphic in the lower half of the main area, and select Extend Partition. In the main screen of the software, youll see the drives connected to your computer in the top screen. 1 week old, 2 weeks old, 1 month old if you so desire. Or 1 primary and 3 clones, each one incremental. It allowed my existing system to boot 3x faster and probably added 2-3 years of useful life to it. I recovered my old system to the internal Hard drive and was then able to boot my old system from the hard disk. GT80 SLI Titan has 4 SSD slots, 3x2280 and 1x2.5" and theoretically you can have 4 different operating systems on it. Both SSDs are nominally 500GB but the new drive appears to be a few bytes smaller than the old one. I do the cloning about twice a month so the clone is always several weeks out of date as it should be, I don't want to clone every single day or even once a week in case there is a problem, I want to see it before it gets cloned to the backup drive and wipe it out too. That is, copy everything from clone -> primary. That works out nicely, if there is a virus or an issue, I can always boot off the secondary boot drive, which is the clone and recover it to the primary boot drive. There is no raid, they are independent drives and I clone the primary boot drive with Macrium Reflect to the backup boot drive. Run the Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration) Select ALL the partitions on the existing C drive. Disconnect ALL drives except the current C and the new SSD. So I replaced both of them with 1TB Samsung 2280 SSDs and they have been nice and much faster. Download and install Macrium Reflect (or Samsung Data Migration, if a Samsung SSD) Power off. I broke the RAID1 the machine came installed with, 2x256GB SSDs in a RAID configuration, if one of them fails, the entire arrays goes down. I don't game, don't need the speed and even if I did, I would do this anyway.
